The large anechoic room
The large anechoic room has a free space of about 1000 m3, and the lower limiting frequency is about 50 Hz.
The facility makes it possible to simulate a reflection free acoustic environment. This is highly useful for loudspeaker measurements, noise emission studies, studies of attenuation and diffraction of sound and also for creating an artificial listening environment where all the acoustic properties are determined by the experimental setup.
The small anechoic room
The small anechoic room has a free space of about 60 m3, and the lower limiting frequency is about 100 Hz.
This room serves essentially the same purpose as the large anechoic room. The smaller room is less perfect from an acoustic point of view, but easier to use.
